first off, dude, anything is better than any sony mp3 player. iPods are the way to go, and I think the only competition at the moment for iPod is the new Zune.
Anyway, the new iPod nano's come in new color's, like blue, green, red, and pink. It is also EVEN THINNER than the original nano. I do not believe sound quality is any different however.
Starting a sort of new topic, if you are looking for an iPod, don't look for a nano. it only holds 1,000 4 minute songs. I personally have 1250 songs, and a lot of video too, so I have the video. So, as long as you are paying 0 for 1000 songs, you may as well get the 0 for 15,000 songs or 0 for the 30,000 songs. Video is a cool extra, so you can buy movies off itunes, and podcasts are free. I know it is a small screen, but it doesn't matter, it is worth it.
Finally, as if this wasn't long enough, if you could, i would wait for the touch-screen iPod to come out. It is supposed to come out in summer, and it is the same size as a video but the entire thing is a screen, hence it is a touch-screen. the problem with that is that it is 0 i believe.
